A Little About Us
Created in 1998, the Crackerjack DJ’s are a collective of archivists, musicians, cratediggers, artists, journalists, hoteliers, free thinkers and knee slappers who administer aural pleasure with a wide range of music: soul, funk, hip-hop, rare groove, and reggae to Afrobeat, Latin, downtempo and block-rockin’ beats. It is in our nature to share.
DJ Fishbits was a crate digger and gent of impeccable musical taste, such that he was asked to DJ with Crackerjack as a guest by the end of 2015. Since then, he has worked aural magic on crowds of all types, playing what he wants, when he wants. He has played internationally, both in Canada and Mexico, as well as filled some of the best clubs in San Francisco. He has played with Crackerjack for 10 years at their John Colins residency, which is currently 1st and 3rd Fridays, and sometimes a 5th, for good measure. The 5th is usually gin. But at times, a 5th Friday is in order.
Born and raised in Philadelphia. Curious – about all of it. Learned journalism at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Moved to San Francisco Bay Area. Have plied pen and keyboards ever since, from magazines (Business 2.0, San Francisco, Paste, Bicycling, Crawdaddy and The Onion) and newspapers (Half Moon Bay Review, Marin Independent Journal) to Web sites (MP3.com and Patch). Specialize in telling rich, engaging stories in a clear, concise manner. Love to share great music with the people, and have been doing so at venues throughout the Bay Area since 1998.
He’s just this guy, you know?
